Today, on 27 September 2024, the National Flag of Georgia flies at half-mast at the Embassy of Georgia in Ireland, to mark the 31st anniversary of the tragic fall of Georgian city Sokhumi in Abkhazia region of Georgia to the hands of illegal military groups supported by the Russian regular army.
On 20th September, Embassy of Georgia participated in Culture Night Ireland - public event which takes place each year in Ireland and celebrates culture, creativity and the arts.

On 8 August 2024 the National Flag of Georgia is flying at half-mast at the premises of the Embassy of Georgia in Ireland to honour the memory of those who fell victim to Russia’s large-scale military invasion in Georgia aimed at illegal occupation of Georgia’s indivisible regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region/South Ossetia.
2024 marks the 16th anniversary of Russia's full-scale military aggression against Georgia. After 16 years, the Russian Federation still continues occupation of Georgia's integral Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions, in violation of the 12 August 2008 Ceasefire agreement brokered by the European Union and in blatant disregard of the fundamental principles and norms of international law. This is confirmed by numerous decisions of the International Criminal Court and the European Court of Human Rights between 2021 and 2024.
On 12 July 2024, Young Ambassadors Ambassadorial 2024 took place in Tbilisi. The event featured addresses from Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Vladimer Konstantinidi, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia Ruslan Abashidze, and Ketevan Gorgoshidze, project manager of the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).
BASED ON THE DOCUMENT SIGNED BETWEEN GEORGIA AND IRELAND, IT IS NOW POSSIBLE TO EXCHANGE GEORGIAN DRIVING LICENCES IN IRELAND Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Ministry of Transport of Ireland and the Road Safety Authority of Ireland have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the exchange of driving licences.

The Association Agreement serves as the main legal framework for Georgia-EU cooperation.
On 4 June 2024, in New York, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution titled “Status of internally displaced persons and refugees from Abkhazia, Georgia and the Tskhinvali region/South Ossetia, Georgia” during its 78th session. This resolution, initiated by Georgia and 63 other countries from various regions, received support from 103 countries.
On 7 March 2024, the Embassy of Georgia in Ireland participated in the Francophonie International Buffet at the „Light House Cinema” as a co-organizer of the cultural programme “Month of Francophonie”. Georgian Embassy presented Georgian wine and cuisine.
