Upon gaining independence Georgia being historically and culturally an inseparable part of Europe chose the path of democratic development and has taken important steps towards the establishment of democratic and European values.

Our aim is firm and clear - a united, strong and democratic Georgia is to establish its place in the family of European countries. The support of the member countries of the European Union and the sharing of their experience of democratic development and European integration processes is of great importance for Georgia.

Diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Republic of Ireland were established in 1996. The friendship between Georgia and the Republic of Ireland is a friendship between countries that share the values of democracy, freedom and European values.

The Embassy of Georgia in the Republic of Ireland aims to strengthen the existing friendship between the two countries and aid the development and the furthering of the mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in a multitude of political areas.
