Ambassador Sophie Katsarava paid a visit to Galway

On 18 May 2026 Ambassador Sophie Katsarava paid a working visit to Galway.

During the visit to Galway Sophie Katsarava met with the Deputy Mayor of Galway Cllr. Alan Cheevers and International Relations Officer Keith Finnegan, the CEO of Galway Chamber Karen Ronan. Ambassador also visited the University of Galway where she held a meeting with the Deputy President and Registrar Professor Becky Whay.

Possibilities for enhancing Georgian-Irish economic and business links as well as intensifying cooperation in the fields of culture and education were main topics discussed during the meetings.

During the visit to Galway Sophie Katsarava also met with Georgian diaspora.
